**READ BEFORE EVENT**
Location:
Tillie K. Fowler Park
When you enter the park, follow the road straight for about one mile. We will meet in the first pavilion on the left, next to the swings.Â
Join Jax Dragonfly Academy for a beginners whittling session! We will use knives and 'wood peelers' to whittle designs into a walking stick, then we will take it for a hike through the park.

Activities include:
- Learning how to safely use a knife or wood peeler for creating designs
- Learning how and why to whittle
- Creating a custom designed walking stick or a "forest poker" (a stick good for poking into things during a hike)
- Go on a hike to explore the forest and appreciate the many trees and plants
Who is this for?
This program is appropriate for kids and adults. Anyone that can grip a pencil and focus on a task will be able to complete a project.Â
Anyone ages 8 or under must be accompanied by an adult. Each ticket purchased is for a one participant. If you are an accompanying adult that will not be participating, you do not need a ticket.
