How do I schedule a program for my school, camp, or homeschool group?
To schedule a program, please visit our booking page by clicking here -> Book Now
We will work with you to create a program that fits your groups needs, and is fully customizable.
Can you bring a program to my classroom or community center?
Yes! If your group is not able to travel to us, we can come to you. These lessons will remove the hiking portion of the lesson, and can be scheduled for the following classes: Rocks & Minerals, Birdwatching & Behavior, Insect Explorers, Chemis-Tree. Please email for more information.
How far in advance must I book my private program?
Programs must be booked at least 2 weeks before their scheduled date.
Can parents and younger siblings attend programs?
Yes! We encourage parents to stay during the program and understand that this means younger siblings may need to tag along. There is no charge for parents and siblings that are not participating in the program.
My child is under 5 years old. Can they still participate in a program?
Our programs are designed for children 5 and up, and include writing and physical tasks that younger children may find difficult or developmentally inappropriate. We ask that you take this into consideration before signing up younger children, but they are always welcome to tag along just to watch if they are not participating.
Its the morning of the program and its raining, is the program canceled?
All programs will be held outside, so please prepare for the weather. Programs will still be held in rain, with the exception of lighting or other dangerous weather conditions. If a program is cancelled for weather, we will contact you via email 24 hours in advance to reschedule the program.
What is the cancellation policy?
If any parents or families need to cancel, they must do so at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled program to receive a refund by emailing email@example.com. After 48 hours, no refund will be given, but credits may be transferred to a future program.
What is the dress code?
Children should dress appropriately for the activities scheduled. Jax Dragonfly Academy recommends some type of athletic shoe or sneaker in order to participate in recreational or athletic activities. Jax Dragonfly Academy recommends an umbrella or jacket for rainy days, as we will still be outside. Flip-flops, rubber “crocs”-style shoes, and other open-toed shoes are not recommended as acceptable attire for active recreation activities. Shirts should have a minimum of 1” wide shoulder straps. Clothing that displays drugs, alcohol, tobacco, offensive language, excessive bagginess, or is excessively revealing will not be permitted.
What is the behavior management policy?
Jax Dragonfly Academy staff will create a fun and safe environment for participants in the program. Praise and positive reinforcement are used as effective methods of behavior management. Children who do not respond to these methods or who are destructive to others or to property will be dealt with in a professional, positive, and timely manner to correct the behavior. NOTE: Immediate dismissal from the program can occur at any time given severe circumstances. Refunds for missed days due to a discipline dismissal will not be granted.
What if my child has special circumstances not already covered?
Parents and guardians are required to inform the Jax Dragonfly Academy in writing of any special circumstances which may affect the child’s ability to participate fully and within the guidelines of acceptable behavior, including, but not limited to, any serious behavioral problems or special circumstances regarding psychological, medical, or physical conditions. These will be handled on a case by case basis.
