We are accepting Applications for Eco Camp Counselors!

Get ready to lead a wild summer adventure as a camp counselor! Jax Dragonfly Academy is seeking camp counselors and environmental educators to lead campers through a variety of amazing outdoor activities for our Wildcraft Adventure and Kinder Eco Camps. You will be actively participating in all camp activities while providing a safe and fun environment to small groups of campers. We are looking for counselors that are responsible and reliable and have the desire to make a difference in the life of a child.

FAQ

Where is camp located? Each week is in a different location within Jacksonville and St. Johns. See the staff schedule below for specifics.

How many campers per week? Between 12 - 16 campers per week, with a max camper: counselor ratio of 8:1

Can I bring in my own ideas and creativity? Yes! If you have special skills, we would love for you to share them.

Does this role require lesson planning or pre-prep? We will have a 1-hour staff training session prior to the start of camp, and staff are asked to read through the schedule each day before arrival. If you would like to plan unique activities, there is flexibility to do so, however it is not required.

Wildcraft Adventure - Just like in their favorite video games, kids will be given challenges throughout the day, and all the while be building their shelters before ‘night’ falls and the monsters wake up! Players will light their own campfires, ‘mine’ for resources and use sharp axes. There’ll be plenty of time to get creative with play and imagination, of course. Wildcraft is a full week of video game inspired activities for kids aged 7 - 11 years.

Kinder Eco Camp - Join us for an immersive nature camp that gets kids outside and learning about the environment in a fun, safe way. Campers ages 4-6 will: Go exploring for animals in the forest, Learn skills that real scientists use in the field, Learn how to create and cook with a fire, Explore nature through play and imagination, Create crafts and a nature journal of the vibrant Florida landscape, Make friends, sing songs, and have fun!
