We are accepting Applications for Part-Time Environmental Educators!

Description
Environmental Educators are those who love bringing the joy and wonder of nature to families. This role will have you creating lesson plans and/or using pre-made plans to craft interactive educational experiences. Our educators are hard working and passionate about connecting with both children and adults. Educators are able to work in a variety of weather conditions, and are able to walk up to 3 miles and lift up to 50 lbs. Educators may work on a team or individually to guide students on a variety of science, nature, and bushcraft topics. Environmental Educators will have basic knowledge of Florida wildlife and be able to communicate information in a clear and concise manner. They will receive training on outdoor safety, group management, environmental education, and more.

This position is part-time.

Minimum Requirements:
-
Desire and ability to work with children and adults
-
Ability to accept and adapt to guidance and supervision
-
Ability to teach various activities
-
At least 18 years of age or 16+ with previous childcare experience
Program responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-
Adequate preparation for classes including materials and location prep
-
Leading or assisting with programs as assigned
-
Providing hands-on, experiential education and life-skill building opportunities to participants
-
Providing a safe, engaging, and enjoyable experience for children
-
Attend and actively participate in all staff trainings and meetings
-
Work cohesively with fellow team members
-
Complete all assigned programmatic duties in a timely manner
-
Actively supervise, encourage, and guide campers through activities
-
Promote positive behavior and teamwork in group settings
-
Other duties as assigned
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Set a positive example for all participants, including cleanliness, punctuality, language, sportsmanship, and manners

Follow all rules and regulations, including those of appropriate attire, no smoking, vaping, or use of alcohol or illegal drugs

Encourage and practice respect of personal property, equipment, and facilities

Communicate any problems or issues as they arise

Counselors - In - Training
We are currently accepting applications for Counselors - In - Training. These are highly motivated 14-15 year-olds that will assist Educators and student campers at our programs.
