About the event
Location:Â
Alimacani Park
11080 Heckscher Dr, Jacksonville, FL 32226
Driving North on Hecksher, take the first right immediately after Huguenot. Follow the road and park in the area on the right. We will meet at the brown pavilion towards the back.
(If you are driving southbound, you will need to make a U-turn once you cross the bridge, then exit on the right.)
What to Expect
We will have a shore animal mini-lesson, followed by a sea shell ID game. We will then do a crustcean dissection (pre-cut animals). Lastly, we will attempt to find creatures on the shoreline. Bring clothes that can get wet and closed toe shoes!
Who Is This For?
This program is appropriate for school age children through high school. This class has a focus on experiental learning, so kids are encouraged to ask questions about things they find along the way. It will be fun and hands on for the younger kids, while still being challenging enough for older kids. This is not a drop off program.Â
What to Bring
Bugspray, Water bottle, Shoes & clothes that can get wet
You MUST wear shoes that enclose the foot during this program such as water shoes, sneakers, chacos, etc.
