About the Event
Click here: https://goo.gl/maps/HvSZCXRWEWB9obDz7 or Copy and Paste into Google Maps: The Bluffs Scenic Shoreline picnic area at Big Talbot Island State Park, Jacksonville, FL 32226
There is no signage on the road, so please use GPS to find the location. You can input the above address. If you are driving Northbound, you will pass Houston Ave on the left. Then pass two gravel parking areas on the right. Take the next immediate right. When you turn in, you will see a sign that says "The Bluffs Scenic Shoreline picnic area." If you get to the bridge with a pavilion, you have gone too far. Please park in the loop and meet at the picnic area to check in and get seated.
What to Expect
We will do 3 activities that will teach kids about the rock cycle, types of rocks, and erosion. These will take about an hour. We will then take an 8 minute walk down to the beach area. Kids will play a “rocks and not rocks” game. After this, you are free to stay and explore, or head back at your leisure.
What to Bring
Bugspray, Water bottle Optional: Water shoes for the beach walk
If you have not done a program with us before, please print and bring a signed copy of waivers to the program. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1U59UkgxYtrkFB6wzTh7z5oho5lLP_VJQleSu-FeQ0Fw/edit?usp=sharing
