Treasure Hunt & Walk & Whittle Combo Class

When you arrive park in front of the playground. We will meet under the oak trees on the right of the playground. In the event of rain, we will be under the covered pavillion. Bring a rain coat!

What to Expect

Each class will run about 90 minutes. We will start with the Treasure Hunt, where students will learn how to use a compass, how to read a map, and other orienteering skills. They will then use those skills to find the pirate's treasure! After the class, take home your compass to use again and again. After a lunch break, we will learn how to whittle using beginner's whittling knives. After all the walking sticks have been whittled, we will take them for a hike down the trail.

Who Is This For?

This program is appropriate for school age children through high school. This class has a focus on experiental learning, so kids are encouraged to ask questions about things they find along the way. It will be fun and hands on for the younger kids, while still being challenging enough for older kids. This is not a drop off program.
